2010 French Broad River Festival

This annual festival has grown steadily from a one night benefit party on the banks of the French Broad to an all weekend family festival featuring some of the best music in the area and a number of outdoor events in celebration of this beautiful river and setting. Rhododendron Show

The American Rhododendron Society?s Southeastern Chapter will host its annual show at The North Carolina Arboretum. Hundreds of blooms will be displayed at the Education Center during the show, including many favorite mountain plants. Azaleas as well as spring and summer blooming rhododendrons are among the most popular. Trail Walks to the National Native Azalea Repository will be offered. Free with parking fee ($6 per personal motor vehicle).

7th Annual Montford Music & Arts Festival
May 22, 2010
The annual Montford Music and Art Festival will take place in the NPS-designated Montford Area Historic District on May 15. The festival celebrates the rich musical and artistic heritage found in Montford, Asheville, and the region with approximately 4,000 annual attendees. All musical acts have some connection to Montford and a number of the vendors do as well. The festival is promoted in celebration of Preservation Month by the Buncombe County Historic Resources Commission.

Garden Jubilee Festival

Garden Jubilee offers over 125 vendors selling handmade arts and crafts, plants and items to enhance your outdoor living area. Nurseries selling many varieties of annuals, perennials, vegetables, trees, shrubs, and hard to find plants will be located on every block of the festival. There will also be delicious food to satisfy any appetite. Vendors will be located on the wide sidewalks of Historic Downtown Hendersonville from Sixth Avenue to Second Avenue. Main Street will be closed to traffic from Second Avenue to Caswell Street, with vendors lining both sides of the street.
